Workpackages
To reach the objectives of the DALOS project, six strongly interlinked work packages (WPs) have been shaped around the mission critical activities of bringing it forward towards a successful implementation of the system and measurable tests.
WP1 - Management and coordination
WP leader: CNR-ITTIG
Objectives
- Coordinating relationships between partners of the Consortium, ensuring timely transfer of specifications, tools etc. between WPs;
- Monitoring and tracking progress advancement in the project (schedules, milestones, deliverables), resource allocation and spending;
- Swift resolution of unexpected problems, ensure Project plan refinements if needed;
- Handling administration and financial management of the project;
- Organising and lead project meetings.
WP2 - Analysis and specification of the system
WP leader: CNR-ITTIG
Objectives
- Analysis of the legislative production scenarios;
- Analysis of the linguistic and ontological resources produced by the LOIS project;
- Selection of the domain/s of interest at European level to implement the linguistic-ontological resource;
- Macro design: KOS (Knowledge Organization System) and detailed functional description of the application modules;
- Micro design: convert the functional specifications, the KOS and the application architecturedesign into detailed technical specifications, limited for the prototype of the system.
WP3 - Text Knowledge Extraction and Connection to the Ontology
WP leader: CNR-ILC
Objectives
- To develop a term extraction and ontology learning tool in order to enrich the linguisticontological resource produced by the LOIS project;
- To define the polices of updating of the linguistic-ontological resource;
- To measure the results of the learning procedure for the prototype, giving statistics on updated terms and concepts.
WP4 - Implementation of prototypical services
WP leader: CELI
Objectives
- To implement the prototype of the system, namely
- the linguistic-ontological resource, derived from the LOIS project, according to the standard specifications defined within WP2;
- the APIs for the access (querying and updating) to such resource;
- the service according to the modalities of use as identified within WP2 (stand-alone, distributed environment).
WP5 - Test and Evaluation
WP leader: Leibniz Center for Law – Univ. Amsterdam (Uva)
Objectives
- To define the quality indicators for legislative texts;
- To establish the test modalities and the parameters for the evaluation;
- To test and to validate the service.
WP6 - Dissemination and Exploitation
WP leader: European University Institute
Objectives
- To prepare the foundation for a sustainable venture on the basis of the project results;
- To establish an agreement among partners and others possible entities to carry on the venture;
- To raise the awareness of the venture especially among public administrations and service providers for public administrations.
